SMOKE-FREE SIM CAMPUS FROM 1 JANUARY 2006
We refer to our earlier communication regarding the implementation of a smoke-free campus policy.
This is a reminder that the smoke-free campus policy comes into effect on 1 January 2006. Smoking will be prohibited on SIM premises, i.e., all air-conditioned and non-air conditioned areas within the buildings, including the open areas surrounding the buildings in SIM Headquarters, 461 Clementi Road, and Management House, 41 Namly Avenue.
Students who violate this policy shall be dealt with according to the student behaviour code as contained in the "Student Handbook", which may include the following disciplinary measures:
First Offence Verbal warning. Student’s name shall be registered in list of offenders.
Second Offence 1st warning letter. Student must attend counselling and smoking cessation video session.
Third Offence 2nd warning letter. Student may be suspended for a period of their study.
Fourth Offence Student will be referred to the Disciplinary Committee for appropriate action.
